Halifax, MA - June 21, 2025 - Abigail Aldridge made a memorable return to the show ring today with a win in the NEHJA 2'0" Hunter Derby, sponsored by the Equestrian Shop, riding Seaside Snorkel Time to top honors in a competitive class at Fieldstone Show Park. Madison Coulstring and Easy Living finished second, with Catherine Sun and Mr. Chocolat rounding out the top three.
Saturday’s class marked the debut of Fieldstone Show Park’s newly upgraded grass ring, offering a smooth and polished ride for the field of competitors. The track began with a single fence, followed by a diagonal line, then a bending line that tested riders’ adjustability. From there, riders tackled a single oxer on the diagonal, rolled back to a trot jump, and finished with a final bending line toward home, providing a welcoming but thoughtful test for derby contenders.
For Aldridge, the day’s win carried extra meaning. After recovering from a recent hospitalization, she returned to the show ring with just two lessons under her belt before Fieldstone. Her team noted that the derby served as a “see-where-we-are” moment, which made this blue ribbon all the more impressive.

“I just wanted to see how it would go,” said Aldridge, who was aboardSnorkel, a beloved 18-year-old pony. “He’s usually pretty sleepy, but today he was up and going. I think the derby is kind of his thing.”
Aldridge currently leases Snorkel and was thrilled with his performance on the grass. “It felt smoother than being in a ring, plus it was fun,” she shared. Now in her third year showing at Fieldstone Show Park, Aldridge says the venue continues to be a favorite. With its community feel, improved surfaces, and beautiful setting, it is an ideal spot for riders of all levels to compete and grow.
Competition continues throughout the weekend at Fieldstone Show Park, with the show culminating in the thrilling $20,000 Grand Prix on Sunday.
