Emma Woodworth and Rio D’oro Shine in the MHC Adult Medal at Fieldstone Show Park

Halifax, MA - June 20, 2025 - Emma Woodworth rode Rio D’oro to victory in Friday’s MHC Adult Medal at Fieldstone Show Park, setting the tone with a confident and polished round. Kate Nilan and Tibri’s Silver Lining earned the second place honors, followed by Celia Rapp and Karel in third place.

“This was kind of my warm-up day, so my goal was just to go in and focus on the basics,” said Woodworth. “I wanted to keep him in front of my leg, work on everything we’ve been practicing at home, and just put it all together. He’s so reliable, I can always count on him to show up and be a rockstar.”

The course opened with a flowing bending line, immediately followed by a rollback turn that tested riders’ accuracy. A diagonal line encouraged forward riding, and the round finished with an outside line headed toward home. Designed with rhythm and adjustability in mind, the course offered a strong start to the equitation competition for the week.

Woodworth and Rio D’oro, a flashy chestnut gelding, are a longtime team. “I’ve had him for about three years. He was my junior hunter, and when I aged out he stepped right into the amateurs with me,” she shared. “He’s so confident and really knows his job. He always walks in wanting to win, and that just gives me so much confidence. I’m incredibly lucky to have him.”

Now a regular at Fieldstone, Woodworth had high praise for the venue. “I’ve been coming here for about three years and every time it just gets better,” she said. “The footing is great, the rings are really well maintained, and it’s always a fun and well-run show. I love bringing the horses here and getting to enjoy it all with my barn, it’s always a good time.”

With momentum building in the equitation ring, riders now turn their attention to more championship-caliber classes still to come this week at Fieldstone Show Park including the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby on Saturday, and the $20,000 1.30m Grand Prix on Sunday.
