Halifax, MA - June 19, 2025 - Jordan Rich and Sebastian kicked off the week at Fieldstone Show Park with a win in the 1.25m-1.30m Open Welcome, sponsored by Pat Strong Horseshoeing. The pair topped a competitive field with a double-clear performance and a winning time of 31.287 seconds. Michael Janson and Ringo Star PS finished just behind them in second place on a time of 31.898 seconds, followed by Willie Tynan and Cinatra Gold in third with a time of 32.001 seconds.
“I thought the course was just the right amount of challenging,” said Rich. “The jump-off especially was really well-suited to my horse. He’s quick across the ground, so my plan was mostly to stay calm, keep it tidy, and go for the double clear.”

The first round opened with a fence across the center line, followed by a bending line that set the tone for a flowing yet technical track. Riders then tackled a combination on the diagonal, another bending line, a single oxer on the diagonal, and a final combination bending to the end jump. The jump-off mirrored portions of the first round, beginning with the center line fence and continuing through the bending line. Two tight inside turns challenged riders’ adjustability: first to the diagonal combination, and again to the final line.
Rich's partner, Sebastian, a 9-year-old gelding, was more than up for the task. “He’s really spicy, but he’s got a lot of heart,” Rich said. “He loves to go, and he loves to win.”
Having competed at Fieldstone for the past seven years, Rich says the venue holds a special place in her career. “It was one of the first shows I ever did,” she concluded. “I’m very close with a lot of the people here, I know a lot of the competitors and people at the ingate really well. It’s one of my favorite shows to go to, it always feels like coming home.”
The week is off to a strong start at Fieldstone, with more exciting sport to come, including the MHC Adult Medal on Friday, the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby on Saturday, and the event’s culminating in the $20,000 1.30m Grand Prix on Sunday.
