Halifax, MA - June 13, 2025 - The MHJ Junior Medal 3’0” offered the opportunity for junior riders to showcase their equitation skills over a thoughtfully designed course at Fieldstone Show Park on Friday. Rising to the top was Zoe Duncan, who made her medal debut at this height aboard Congo, a horse owned by her friend Teagan Owens. The win was especially meaningful, as it marked Zoe’s first time competing at 3’0” in an equitation class. Behind Duncan, Giuliana Junghans and Gk A La Quattro took second, followed by Noora Hardy and Leonidas Z in third.

“This was actually her first time doing the three-foot in the medals,” Duncan’s mom shared. “She’s done the jumpers at that height before, but this was a big step for her, and really exciting!”
Despite this being a new height for her in the equitation and a new partnership with Congo, Duncan approached the class with poise and a solid plan, “I’ve only ridden him twice before today,” she explained. “He’s got a really powerful jump, so I just wanted to stay with him, keep my heels down, and be accurate throughout the course.”
The track tested precision and rideability, beginning with two single fences on opposite quarter lines, followed by a forward diagonal line, a tidy outside combination, and a long approach to a diagonal oxer before finishing on an outside line toward home.
Duncan noted that the course required riders to be forward-thinking and confident. “The diagonal line rode a little forward, and we were a bit long to the out, but it worked out,” she said. “The outside line was a little forward too, and the combination was smooth, I just had to ride up to it a bit.”
A longtime Fieldstone competitor, Duncan was thrilled to notch such an exciting result at a venue that feels like home, “I’ve been coming to Fieldstone every summer since I was five or six,” she said. “I go to all the shows all summer, it’s really fun and I love being here.”
Look forward to more exciting classes at Fieldstone Show Park including the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby on Saturday, and culminating in the $20,000 1.30m Grand Prix on Sunday.
