Halifax, Ma-July 3, 2021- The second week of competition kicked off on Tuesday with the Professional Divisions taking over Ring 1 and 2. Jennifer Ritucci-Volandre swept the over fences of the combined 3’-3’3” Green Hunters on Grafton Street LLC’s NVF Fort Knoxx securing the Championship honors. In the Baby Green Hunters, it was Tibri LLC’s Tibri’s Mirage capturing the Championship with Elizabeth Naber in the irons.
This week was all about the Hunter Derby’s. With over 40 entries combined in all four derbies, the Champions Give Back Program along with Hanson Grain & Purina was able to donate 20 bags of grain to the chosen rescue of the week, Don’t Forget Us, Pet Us! This rescue is a 501 c3 non profit organization-they do not receive any government funding and rely solely on donations. Don’t Forget Us, Pet Us! is run by a handful of volunteers who juggle families and full time jobs away from the farm. This organization needs all the help they can get when it comes to generating the funds to continue the work of the sanctuary and providing a lifetime commitment to their animals.
