Halifax, MA. - August 13, 2025 - The opening day of Fieldstone Show Park’s Summer Showcase set the stage for an exciting week of competition, with Willie Tynan and Cinatra Gold taking the win in the $5,000 1.25m-1.30m Open Welcome sponsored by HorseWorks Insurance. The pair produced the only double clear of the jump off, crossing the timers in 41.957 seconds to secure the top spot. Penny Brennan and Vertigo Delorme took second with a blazing 32.257-second time, but had one rail down, while Eleanor Pieters and Wikarla Van Den Bosrand Z finished third with 4 faults in 34.750 seconds.
Going in second to last gave Tynan the advantage of knowing there had not been a fault-free jump-off. “My strategy shifted at that stage,” he explained. “I decided just to school around for a clear round and, if I was double clear, the worst I’d be was second. Luckily, it worked out.” His plan paid off, with careful, measured riding that kept every rail in place.

The first-round course opened with a diagonal line toward home before bending through another diagonal. From there, riders met an oxer bending to a combination down the outside, then bent back to another oxer before tackling a diagonal line away from home. The track closed with an oxer bending to a single on the outside, then a final bend to a single. The jump-off retraced the opening diagonal line as its first two fences, then flowed to a single on the quarter line rolling back to an oxer, before sending riders through the diagonal combination again and finishing over a final oxer that offered multiple approach options.
Tynan praised the design, saying, “The course builder did a really great job – everything rode the way it should. There were a few rails here and there, but all the horses jumped it well. The jump-off had options to go inside to three of the jumps, and there were some good options.”
Owned by Kevin Walker’s Red Barham Farm, Cinatra Gold is an 8-year-old Tynan purchased last year. The partnership faced an early setback when the gelding fell ill in quarantine, costing them Florida and most of the summer season. “We just focused on getting him healthy and stronger at home,” Tynan said. “This spring and summer have been his first real chance to step up, and he’s showing all the right signs.”
Having been based in Massachusetts for nearly 11 years, Tynan is a familiar face at Fieldstone and values the venue’s role in producing quality horses. “Even back when they had the grass field, it was a great show,” he noted. “The rings are fantastic for developing younger horses, and they’ve made smart changes over the years to improve the facility. It’s always a pleasure to compete here.”
Competition at Fieldstone Show Park’s Summer Showcase I continues through the week, including tomorrow’s $5000 1.20 Open Jumper Derby, Saturday’s $2500 USHJA National Hunter Derby, and the show is highlighted by Sunday’s $20,000 1.30m Grand Prix.
